09.06.08 NEWS UPDATE: The Kona Bristol Bike-Fest is over for another year, and what a weekend! Thanks to everybody, riders, supporters, exhibitors and sponsors who helped make the 2008 Bike-Fest one of the best yet. Following the growing success of Bristol Bikefest the event will return to Ashton Court on the 7-8th June 2008. We will again do our best to make 08 even better and that starts with KONA bikes taking on both the Bikefest turning the Bristol event into the Kona Bristol Bikefest 2008. The course being one of the best bits of the Kona Bristol Bikefest with its super fast single track and the scaffold bridge will get a few refinements but basically will stay the same. As in 2007 we will run the 12 hour event on Saturday and the 6 hour event on Sunday with the 6 hour event aiming at both new to the sport riders who fancy a challenge and 12 hour riders who can’t get enough of the sweet Bristol singletrack. On Saturday (12 hour) we will have solo, pairs and teams of 4 categories – all available in Competitive, Fun and Single Speed. The 6 hour Sunday race will have the same categories as the Saturday.As the racing starts at 9am, to make the best of the hot sunny June daylight times, most riders arrive on Friday afternoon to check out the course (open from 5pm onwards) and to ease into a action loaded cycling and camping weekend. As in 2007 there will be a DJ already on the Friday evening with a bar and food stands in the marquee, ready to set you up for a weekend of flat out racing. The first 350 riders will get a free limited edition Kona Bristol Bikefest 08 tee shirt and all entries received before the 1st of May get free camping so get in quick as it fills up fast and we only have limited space at the event.
