Kind of similar to last year we have yet ‘forgotten’ to mention the loyalty gift concept which we run in 2007 and which gave more than 300 people a nice little gift (more than £ 25 worth in fact) for being a regular part of the Bikefest events. We are doing it again but before we get there here some more updates:

Kona Bristol Bikefest – entries
camping imageContrary to the rumours going around the entry for both days of the Kona Bristol Bikefest (7 - 8th June 2008 – Ashton Court) is still open. Saturday is very popular so far with only 10 solo places left for the 12 hour event. Team places are still available but if you are keen to do this great event on your own then make sure you get your entry in straight away.

There are still lots of solo places available for the 6 hour event on Sunday. So if you fail to get your 12 hour solo entry in or if you in preparation to tackle a 12 or 24 event in the future make sure you don’t miss out on this challenging yet super enjoyable course. There are still plenty of entries for the team events on Sunday available.

To find out more about the Kona Bikefests (Bristol and Cheddar) and to enter the events go to http://www.bike-fest.com/  and download your entry form from the entry page.

If you enter the Kona Bristol Bikefest before the 1st May then we will throw the camping (otherwise £ 4.00 per night per pitch) in for free. The campground will be open from Friday afternoon to Monday morning.

Loyalty gift
As in 2007 we have paired up with our sponsor Paligap (Kona Bikes distributor) to give every rider who is taking part in the Saturday and the Sunday event a ‘loyalty gift’ worth more than £ 25 - so everybody who has already entered both events or who is going to will be rewarded when you sign on. Maybe worth considering giving the 6 hour solo a go once you have tackled the course on Saturday in a team of four or maybe the other way round. You will also qualify for the loyalty gift if you have already entered one event and decide to add the other one to your event schedule. Our ‘loyalty gift’ offer applies also for taking part in the Bristol event and the Cheddar event later in the year.

What is going to happen at the event…besides the 1st class riding?
Besides the 1st class riding you will find at the Kona Bristol Bikefest there are lots of other aspects to enjoy. We will have again a bar on Friday and Saturday. Music wise we will have a DJ entertaining the crowds on Friday night and the almost traditional Bikefest live band Junction 27 (http://www.myspace.com/junction27music) as well as a new live addition will entertain the crowds on Saturday evening. For much needed tummy filling after and during your ride there will be a few event caterers offering all sorts of different fillers.

Event Village
We had already a fair amount of industry interest in the relaxed event atmosphere and the great course the Kona Bristol Bikefest has to offer. So far we have bookings from Ritchey, Kona, High5, Cannondale, Cube, Bionicon, Propel, ZeroG, Merion Wool, Dodgy Gear, RAM, Intense, Maverick, Merida and Ergon. All these guys will have their latest gear on display and a selection of test products available…and if you know the Bristol course you know what a great test track in particular for suspension products it is.
