Facilities and camping
Facilities
For this first time in the history of the Bristol Bikefest we will have shower available for the competitors. We will also have two separate camp grounds. One next to the event village and start/finish area (same as in 2008) which doesn’t have showers on site and is more likely to stay lively in the evenings. The other one is a couple hundred yards from the event village but has showers (open to all riders) on site and is more likely to stay quiet in the evenings/nights. So in any case the start/finish as well as the showers are no more than a couple hundred yards away – no matter in which camp ground you are staying.
Spaces at both sites are limited. We will fill the campground next to the event village first before we start filling the one at the rugby club.
Besides that we will in any case have lots of nice toilets with washing facilities. We do recommend riders to bring enough drinking water for the duration of the event. We will have supplies on site but they are limited. There are caterers, a bar and tea and coffee retailers on site.

With the event being divided into two main parts we are expecting a fair amount of riders and their support crew to camp over the whole or some parts of the weekend.
To accommodate the rising numbers of campers and to offer the riders better facilities we will have two separate camp grounds for the 2009 event. One campground will be next to the event village and start/finish area. This is effectively the camp ground we used in the 2008 event. The other campground hosts the showers and will most likely stay more quiet over the weekend is just across the road (Beggar Bush Lane – B3129) and easily accessible from the event village and start/finish location.
Spaces for the two grounds are limited and we can only guarantee that you get a pitch if you enter early.
The costs per pitch (5m x 5m) are £ 4.00 per night per pitch. The pitches should be big enough for a car and a 2-3 person tent. If you want to stay over night please make sure that you enter the event and book your camping spot early to avoid disappointments. We have very tied space and access restrictions and cannot guarantee that you can camp if you haven’t pre-booked. To book please tick the correct boxes on the entry form and (depending on the day you enter) add the correct amount to your entry fee. We will send you your camping ticket which will give you access to one of the two camping fields.
If you should have an oversize vehicle, marquees, easy-ups or gazebos you want to bring please get in touch with us on 0117 9532698/ 07834 005835 or paul.bikefest@virgin.net. Teams of four riders will be expected to share a maximum of two pitches, unless special arrangements are agreed with us in advance.
Thank you for your co-operation!
